About Us

Pioneering Teacher Education

Pre-Primary Teacher Training Centre (PPTTC), Dibrugarh established in 1962 is the only pioneer institution in Assam and entire North East region, has been providing pre-primary teacher training programme.

It is located at Milan-Nagar, Tulshi Gaon Path, Dibrugarh under directorate of SCERT, Assam. Late Sailabala Baruah was the founder principal of PPTTC.

Apart from providing short term and long term Pre-Primary teacher training course, from 1995 onwards, it has been providing junior basic training and D.El.Ed. in-service course for primary teachers. Now, we are going to introduce curriculum, contents, methodology, assessment and evaluation concerned with ECCE to the teachers as per NEP,2020.

Frequently Asked Questions

The minimum eligibility for the Pre-Primary Teacher Training course is completion of 10+2 (Higher Secondary) from a recognized board. Candidates with higher qualifications are also welcome to apply.

The D.El.Ed. In-Service Course is a 2-year program designed for working teachers. The course follows a flexible schedule to accommodate working professionals.

Yes, PPTTC Dibrugarh has a dedicated placement cell that assists students in finding suitable teaching positions after course completion. We have tie-ups with numerous schools and educational institutions across the region.

We offer merit-based scholarships for outstanding candidates. Additionally, there are government scholarships available for eligible students from reserved categories and economically weaker sections.
